BITROS CONSTRUCTIONS S.A. was established in 1999 and is the branch of the Group specializing in the construction and real estate development sector. In the mid 1980s the company, then called BITROS S.A., had already, quite by chance and in parallel with its fundamental activity, made a few real-estate transactions which included the purchase and sale of large, mainly industrial, properties.
When BITROS CONSTRUCTIONS was established, the real estate activity was separated from metals trading and the Group officially entered the construction and real estate development sector.
The projects designed and built by BITROS CONSTRUCTIONS are distinguished by the aesthetic superiority of their exteriors, the functional arrangement of their internal areas and the excellent landscaping of their surroundings. However, they stand out primarily for incorporating earthquake-protection technologies developed by other companies of the Group, and THORAX ANTISEISMIC in particular.
PROJECTS
2004
- Completion of a residential project in the area of Agios Dionysios, Piraeus, which includes two adjacent seven-storied modern buildings consisting of 38 apartments and 9 stores.
The buildings face the archaeological area of Piraeus, which is being regenerated with extensive areas of greenery and facilities for the public. The total usable area of the buildings is approximately 4,200 square meters, with a 1,200 square-meter basement which includes parking and storage areas.
2005
- Construction of a six-storey building, each storey comprising one luxury apartment, on a privately-owned plot in Nea Smyrni, Athens.
- Completion of work on a high-specification detached house (villa) in Psychiko, Athens.
2006
- Completion of the NEFELI residential complex, comprising 60 modern houses and a large communal swimming pool on a 5,677 square-meter plot, part of a larger 13,754 square-meter plot with planning permission, owned by the Company at Neapolis, Halkida.
The total surface area of the houses is approximately 4,930 square meters. 5 three-storey buildings were erected, each with a pilotis and large underground storage and parking areas. In addition, extensive communal areas were landscaped and planted for residents’ use.
2007
- Completion of a building comprising two luxury apartments, each occupying one storey, with a play room, underground storage areas, a pilotis and parking areas at Aghios Thomas, Amarousion.
The building is near the Attiki Odos and Kifisias Avenue interchange, the Metro station and THE MALL, a large new indoor shopping center.
2008
- A project close to completion which includes the new ARTEMIS residential complex, started in 2005, and comprises 82 high-specification houses, a large communal swimming pool and a store serving local residents.
The ARTEMIS complex is being developed on an 8,077 square-meter plot (adjacent to the existing NEFELI residential complex and the second part of a larger 13,754 square-meter plot with planning permission owned by the Company at Neapolis, Halkida).
The total surface area of the houses is approximately 6,460 square meters. The ARTEMIS complex comprises 7 three-storey buildings, each with a pilotis and large underground storage and parking areas. In addition, extensive communal areas are being landscaped in the area surrounding the houses, and a large swimming pool constructed at the center of the residential complex.
The erection of the NEFELI and ARTEMIS residential complexes has played a major role in upgrading the neighborhood of Neapolis, which also has a recently-built school, an indoor gym and an old people’s day-care center (KAPI), all of which are quite close to the Company’s residential complexes. In addition, NEFELI and ARTEMIS are close to a military camp due for relocation, after which the site will be converted into a park and playground.
The construction of the NEFELI and ARTEMIS residential complexes is a new departure for the town of Halkida, due to their size, their distinctive architectural features, the high standard of infrastructure and their extensive communal areas, laid out by BITROS CONSTRUCTIONS at its own expense.
- At a location called “Elia”, in the Ano Mera area, which lies in the south of the island of Mykonos, the Company is constructing 15 high-specification summer residences on plots of land owned by the KYKLADIKI S.A. These are 150 meters from the coast and 200 meters from the well-known Elia beach, with an excellent view to the sea; some of them have a private swimming pool.
- Plans have been made for the Company to commence construction of a further 18 summer residences at Elia, also on land owned by the KYKLADIKI S.A.
The exquisite location of the houses on the rocky land above Elia beach, their spectacular view to the open sea, the high quality of their construction, the functional arrangement of indoor and outdoor areas and the aesthetics of their exteriors, blending perfectly with the natural environment and traditional architecture of Mykonos, are the special features of the high-specification summer houses in the planning stage or currently being built by BITROS CONSTRUCTIONS on Mykonos. They will ensure a high quality of life for the discerning residents for whom they are intended.
- On the boundary of the northern Athens suburbs of Ekali and Nea Erythraia, the Company is constructing 13 high-specification houses, through a special exchange agreement with the owners of the land (antiparochi), on three adjacent plots with a total surface area of 4,061 square meters. By the terms of this agreement, 8 of the above houses will become the property of BITROS CONSTRUCTIONS.
More specifically, these include:
- One 500 square-meter detached house with a private swimming pool, a garden, a three-car underground parking area and a comfortable play room.
- Three (3) two-storey maisonettes of a surface area of 300 - 350 square meters each, with a garden, an underground parking area, a comfortable play room and a shared swimming pool.
- Four (4) apartments of a surface area of 110 - 200 square meters each, with a garden, an underground parking area, a comfortable play room and a shared swimming pool.
NEW PROJECTS
The Company is about to start construction of the following projects:
- A five-storey block of high-specification apartments with pilotis and two basements in Patisia, Athens.
- A seven-storey block with pilotis and basement in Ampelokipoi, Athens, which will comprise modern apartments featuring comfortable and functional indoor areas.
